THE CENTER FOR ASSISTED REPRODUCTION

Thanks Dr. Kevin!!

6/30 update:

The smiles are starting to roll!

Angela is back to work now after maternity leave.  It FLEW by!  We're already thinking about baby number two though, probably since our experience with baby number one has been so wonderful!  It was a long journey, but hooking up with Dr. Kevin accelerated the process.  And we still have six frozen embryos from our IVF cycle last summer.  How can we not think about Finley's little siblings?  Let's keep going!!!  We must meet them.  :-)  Six embryos....of course when I mention numbers to Angela, I get that raised eyebrow of scold and disbelief in return.  Haha.  Dr. Kevin transfers two embryos per IVF cycle in most circumstances.  We'll start there.  If we end up with twins next time we'll quit.

We were at a party over the weekend and were asked more than once, "now what doctor did you use again?"  The doctor is SO important!  We highly recommend Dr. Kevin.

A year ago we were wondering if this could ever happen for us.  We hooked up with the Center for Assisted Reproduction last July and not long after that we found out Angela was pregnant (IVF).

The fertility process can be long and uncertain, but the payoff at the end is the super fabulous!

Legal note - We received IVF at CAR for free for this official endorsement.
We dance, we play, we sing, and we have a gay old time!  We chat about interesting stuff too.  The work day flies by in a flash!

Requests, songs titles that are stumping you,
or just to say hey.

Birthday: September 17th. Hard core Virgo.

Hometown:
Elwood, Nebraska. Population 720 . . . I tell people that I was valedictorian, but I don't mention that there were only 12 people in my class.

Where you live now: Frisco/Little Elm.  There is a home improvement store and a coffee shop on every corner.  Paint and lattes...we couldn't be happier.

Familly: Angela and 4 miniature schnauzers --Sophie, Marlee Bean, Pierre and Harry.  We're trying to have real kiddos too, so hopefully I'll be posting pictures of human babies someday soon!  What a process that is.  I really think everyone should have to pay to reproduce.

Things you do daily: Drink coffee, work out, have a deep thought, have a silly thought, regret something stupid I said or didn't say, check out the sports headlines, brush my teeth, oh good grief this list could get way too long!

Coolest thing about Dallas/Fort Worth:  Next to the inconceivable number of mexican restaurants per capita?  The 6th largest gay population in the United States!  Love rules.  And so does queso.

Favorite Carb: Chips and queso (surprise), Peanut M&M's, and barbecue flavored chex mix.  I always think that I'm on a low carb diet, but I blow that diet way more than I am on it.  At least I have good intentions.

Favorite Music: Patty Griffin, Alanis Morrissette, Sarah MacLachlan, Cher, Bette Midler, Jennifer Nettles, Imogen Heap, Antigone Rising, Scissor Sisters.

Happiest when:  I feel like I've made a positive difference in someone else's life.

Favorite thing about your job:  Being part of a revolutionary new project like Pride Radio.  I needed this station as I was coming out back in the day, and to be on a radio station like this now is awesome.  It's just dang fun!

Ellen

So that closet....

It seems like Ellen was in, then she was out, then she was in, and now she's dashing further out again.

At the Daytime Emmy's Friday night, there was the big on-camera smooch with Portia when she won.  And now there's talk that she'll include part of the wedding in her show once they do marry.  If she didn't think middle America could handle it, she wouldn't do it.  She's been down that road before.

Angela and I went to a party over the weekend and we stood around (with our baby) and talked to a group of straight guys.  They commented about the gay thing, "do you think anyone even cares anymore?"  Umm...in loud, well-organized pockets perhaps.  But for the most part everyone seems to NOT give a hoot in a good way.  Do you agree?

Ten years ago perhaps the Daytime Emmys would have cut away when Ellen and Portia were about to smooch.  And perhaps TR Knight and his guy would have been more reluctant to hold hands on the Hollywood red carpet.  But now, are we all good?

Ellen seems happier than ever.  I guess THAT's the coolness that peeps pick up on!
