In late June, the US Supreme Court declined to review a federal appeals court ruling that said trans people diagnosed with gender dysmorphia should be entitled to reasonable accommodations in line with the Americans With Disabilities Act. Allowing the lower court ruling to stand means they cannot be discriminated against in most public programs and services based on their condition. This ruling is binding in the 4th Circuit.

A Federal Judge is temporarily blocking a Wisconsin school district from forcing transgender students to use the bathroom for their assigned gender at birth while a lawsuit against the school district moves forward. The lawsuit was brought by an 11-year-old student and her mother.

This week marks Non-Binary Awareness Week leading up to July 14 as International Non-Binary Day. Recognized around the world, this week is used to shine a spotlight on those who do not identify as a man or a woman exclusively, or as someone who identifies as both a man and a woman, or outside of those categories entirely.
