The Tennessean Newspaper is reporting that Vanderbilt University handed over the private medical records of transgender patients to Tennessee’s Attorney General who is investigating LGBTQ+ patient care. According to Vanderbilt, they said they were “obligated to comply” in the investigation into billing for transgender care services provided to individuals enrolled in state-sponsored insurance plans.
Similar to the trans youth care bill that was just struck down by a Federal Judge in Florida, Arkansas has now also seen their anti-trans bill permanently blocked. U.S. District Court Judge James Moody found the law violates the Constitutional rights of trans youth, their parents, and medical providers.
The New York Police Department’s Hate Crimes Task Force is investigating the vandalization of 70 LGBTQ+ pride flags that were put up around the iron fence that surrounds The Stonewall National Monument park that is directly across the street from the Stonewall Inn, where bar patrons and trans community members fought back against a police raid in 1969, sparking the modern pride movement.
